Sometimes, in fact, I am in a hurry and I just want to eat and be on my way. And in those situations, as long as the food is good, I couldn’t care less if it’s a chain.
While relatively new to Atlanta, El Pollo Loco has been around for over 30 years (it began as a chicken stand in Guasave, MX). The chicken is passable – marinated and grilled, and the frijoles charros (funny, on the menu they call them pinto beans – selective translation…) are not bad. In general I’ve found the food inexpensive and consistent and the restaurant clean – pretty much what you should expect from a chain.
